OVERVIEW
AIS is seeking to hire a talented and driven Data Scientist to join its growing Fraud & Analytics team. In this role, you will work at the intersection of data engineering, machine learning, and business policy development. You will play a key role in modernizing our fraud risk infrastructure, building AI/ML models from the ground up, and delivering actionable insights that protect our customers and business across a range of money services transactions including Wires, Check Cashing, Bill Payments, and Top-Ups.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- AI/ML Model Development
- Design, develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models in Python across a range of fraud detection and transaction risk use cases
- Own the full model lifecycle: feature engineering, model training, validation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring
- Apply best practices for model governance, including documentation, version control, and performance benchmarking. Business Rules & Policy Development
- Conduct regular performance analysis of business rules within the fraud risk engine, identifying opportunities for optimization and improved detection accuracy
- Work closely with risk and compliance stakeholders to develop new fraud prevention policies based on data-driven insights across money services transaction types
- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable policy recommendations. Reporting & Visualization
- Support the development of Power BI dashboards and reports to communicate model performance, policy outcomes, and fraud risk metrics to stakeholders
- Prepare and present analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in any discipline
- Proficiency: Python (pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow/PyTorch, or similar ML libraries)
- Cloud: Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (S3, SageMaker, Lambda, Glue, or similar)
- MLOps: Version control with Git and familiarity with MLOps or CI/CD pipelines
